Ashley Hagen

Ashley Hagen began her artist career in Ames, Iowa at the age of two, accompanying her mother to painting classes at Iowa State University.

She received her BFA in 1999, from the renowned School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her studies also took her to Florence, Italy and Vienna, Austria. She is currently an MFA Candidate at California State University Northridge in Los Angeles.

Hagen's work has been exhibited throughout the U.S. and Europe including Los Angeles, Chicago, Shanghai China and Vienna, Austria. Her work has garnered numerous awards including the 2011 Graduate Association's Thesis Support Research Award and the 2011 Hans Burkhardt Memorial Scholarship. Her artwork continues to be acquired by private and public collections around the world.

Her paintings, sculptures and installations examine the underlying resonance of childhood: limitlessness, inventiveness, mystery, imagination, adventure and possibility.

Currently she lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
